About the Performing Artist Residency

Applications for Summer 2026 will open on April 1. Check back soon to apply.

The Multicultural Arts Center's Performing Artist in Residence program is designed to provide emerging artists with a transformative three-month residency experience, offering opportunities for creative exploration and professional development.

A stipend, rehearsal space, and professional development opportunities are provided and the selected resident will perform a full length showcase at the conclusion of the residency.

Past Residents

Be No Rain by Aiden Marshall debuted at the Multicultural Arts Center on October 16, 2025.

Marshall's project was entitled “Be No Rain,” the story of a young queer Black man, exploring feelings of mourning, rage, inadequacy, and betrayal.

love: Black Boy Unseen by Dalin Celamy debuted at the Multicultural Arts Center on October 4, 2024.

The inaugural Artist in Residency Project at the Multicultural Arts Center featured the work of choreographer and dancer Dalin Celamy and centered on queer black male love, drawing from Celamy's personal journey as a queer black artist of Haitian descent navigating masculinity and expressions of love.
